Hopewell Valley Regional School District

With the help from a grant sponsored by HVEF, and in support of the sixth grade science STEAM curriculum of Timberlane Middle School, the Atelier created and shared educational materials to follow the classes’ erosion-focused themes, also providing professional development for their teachers. TMS received 300 scratchmolds to have the students carve and create reliefs inspired by nature. After completion of the molds, the school participated in a livestream aluminum pour and Q&A with the pour team, watching their artwork come to life. From a selection of these finished reliefs, a mural was created and permanently installed on an exterior wall of the school, facing their rain garden.

Church & Dwight

As a teambuilding exercise, colleagues from the Church & Dwight corporate offices created reliefs incorporating symbols of their Arm & Hammer brand and original trading card imagery. Several add-ons were integrated including a debrief of the workshop, lunch, a guided tour of Grounds For Sculpture, and a visit with various artists of the JA Studio Program. A mural and mounting were fabricated to be hung in their office space as a reminder of their collaboration.

East Brunswick Public Schools

Following a comprehensive tour of the Atelier and Grounds For Sculpture for their group of district teachers, a teacher from Central Elementary reached out to partner and build an educational opportunity for her students. Funded through a grant from EBEF, a mural was created by the 4th grade students, their teachers and students around the world through Flipgrid’s GridPals. Scratchmolds were inspired by one of the seventeen Sustainable Development Goals, empowering the students to inform and challenge communities to end poverty, fight inequality, stop climate change and transform our world. Their mural was integrated into a moveable art installation and will be exhibited in many spots throughout the district, with exciting future opportunities.
